Ginger VanHoutin was raised in Indiana. She received Christ after clearly hearing the Gospel message as a college student in her home church. She was baptized in 1967. Upon graduating she began a teaching career. After she taught for two years Ginger felt she was being called to serve the Lord, not only as a preschool Sunday school teacher, but to teach overseas in a MK school. This call stemmed out of a missionary wife sharing about her overseas work at Ginger’s church. She joined The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM) and was assigned to receive language training before becoming involved in church planting in Taiwan. Yoshihiro Terada was born and raised in Japan. He came to know the Lord as a young man and felt called to be a pastor at age 20. In 1971 he obtained his Pastoral BA degree at a Bible college in Japan. He married and returned to pastor in his home church. In 1978 he and his wife and young 6 year old son accepted the call to be missionaries and were sent out to Taiwan. Yoshihiro and his first wife served together several years in church planting and pastoral ministry when she was taken home to be with the Lord. The Lord brought Yoshihiro and Ginger together as they served alongside others for five years in a struggling church in Taiwan. After they were married they were able to step back from their central role in church leadership to become involved in mentoring church leaders. They were very encouraged when this once struggling church recently sent out its first missionary, Miss Monica. Ginger views her role as an encourager. Yoshihiro provides strong leadership in churches that are challenged with leadership problems. His wise guidance stems from many personal growth experiences in his past. They are both blessed to have seen God’s grace in action in their service.
